Mountain Creek Racing On Pause Due To County Zoning

Due to unforeseen circumstances with Catawba County zoning, there will be no racing this weekend at Mountain Creek Speedway.

The staff and management was notified on Friday, Oct. 6, that they must cease operations immediately.

As of now, events are on pause until further notice.

“It’s unfortunate, but it seems like a few tracks in the area are going through this,” said communications director Derek Pernesiglio. “Right now, we are trying to cooperate with the county and follow all the proper procedures in an effort to get the gates reopened.”

The track is hopeful they may be able to complete the season.

Track owner and promoter Adam Stewart added, “If the track is given an appeal, the staff will make its best effort to complete the year and fill in the dates lost.”
