TULARE, Calif. — Tanner Thorson may have been the star of Trophy Cup 32 Saturday night Thunderbowl Raceway but Landon Brooks took home the big check.
The 32nd running of the charity event, which this year featured 410 winged sprint cars, saw Brooks bank $30,000 for winning the points championship over three nights of racing. Brooks finished fourth in Saturday night’s 50-lap finale and ended up with 441 points, putting him 11 points ahead of World of Outlaws racer Carson Macedo.
Neither Brooks, nor Macedo won a feature during the three nights of action.
However, Thorson backed up his victory on Friday night with a stampede from 15th on the grid Saturday night to win the $10,000 main event, which was run in daylight conditions to wrap up ahead of pending weather.
Thorson wound up third in the points, two markers behind Macedo.

Rookie Jett Barnes also romped through the field, driving from 14th to finish second.
Tanner Holmes, Brooks and Thursday night feature winner Justin Peck, who started 21st, completed the top five.
