CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Racing America has announced its 2027 racing schedule, featuring an expanded calendar, new venues, returns to historic circuits, and the addition of new racing series to the Racing America banner.
Once again, Racing America’s schedule is loaded with some of the most celebrated and historic road courses in North America. In total, 20 race weekends will make up the 2027 calendar, including 12 races for the Trans Am Series’ National Championship, 15 for both International GT and Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), 13 for the recently announced NA Formula Ladder, and 10 races over six weekends for Trans Am’s Western Championship.
The season will also mark Hankook Tire & Technology’s first year serving as the exclusive tire supplier for Racing America’s professional road racing platforms, including the Trans Am Series, International GT and the NA Formula Ladder.
In addition, 2027 will see two new series competing under the Racing America banner, as Rush joins the fold for a total of 11 events with their National and Western Championships, and Prototype America hosts eight events during Racing America weekends.
“2027 is sure to be our best year yet,” said Ken Thwaits, Chief Operating Officer of Racing America. “With the return to some of North America’s most historic racing venues, an expanded presence on the West Coast, new opportunities for competitors and the addition of new series to the Racing America platform, our 2027 schedule reflects our continued commitment to growing the sport and delivering exceptional experiences for drivers, teams and fans.”
On the Trans Am front, highlights of the 2027 schedule include a return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, which has hosted 52 previous Trans Am Series races—the third-most of any track in the 61-year history of the series. The season will also feature a historic return to Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) for the first time since 2011. As part of a long-term partnership, the TA2 Series and NA3 Championship will be part of next year’s GP3R.
“The 2027 Trans Am schedule is one of the best the series has ever seen,” said Andy Lally, Trans Am Series President. “Every single track is top notch and it’s going to create an amazing championship across all of our classes. I love that the big horsepower Trans Am class will once again be flying across the bricks at Indy, and I’m thrilled that we will see our TA2 cars battling on one of the best street courses on the planet at Three Rivers. Our Midwest fans will be happy to know we are bringing the thunder back to Thunder Valley at Mid-Ohio with all of Trans Am’s classes going for victory there.”
Hosting some of their largest fields to date in 2026, International GT expects even more excitement in 2027, as the schedule expands to 15 events nationwide. With more races, new tracks and expanded eligibility allowing for new competitors, 2027 is sure to be a banner year for the sportscar GT3 and GT4 platform. With the schedule including back-to-back events at Sonoma Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, International GT will also return to the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, the most anticipated addition to the 2027 schedule is Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which will mark International GT’s first venture outside the United States.
For SVRA, 15 events at premier tracks across America will give racers plenty of opportunities to plan their racing adventures. Continuing Racing America’s commitment to quality track time, safe, competitive racing, and memorable vintage racing experiences, SVRA has incorporated competitor feedback into its 2027 calendar. Regionalized back-to-back weekends will allow racers to build even more track time into their 2027 travel plans, while a robust Western schedule brings SVRA vintage racing back to many West Coast venues. Refining the weekend formats, the 2027 calendar will feature a mix of three- and four-day festivals for all SVRA race groups, as well as invitational events, which will showcase limited race groups, exciting competition and track experiences.
The season will also celebrate multiple anniversaries and racing milestones, with Sports 2000, Stock Cars, and Formula Vee features already on the books and more being planned.
Just last week Racing America announced its new development ladder for up-and-coming formula racers—the NA Formula Ladder. Overseen by Race Director Scott Goodyear, who was previously the race director for FR Americas and F4 U.S., the ladder consists of the NAJr Championship, NA4 Championship and NA3 Championship.
With a focus on driver development both on and off the track, the three-step ladder is designed to take the next generation of racers from karting to the doorstep of professional motorsports. Sanctioned and operated by Racing America, all series on the NA Formula Ladder utilize Ligier formula cars with Hankook tires and offer scholarship to championship-winning drivers.
With drivers as young as age 14 competing on the ladder, the schedule emphasizes both development and competition, mixing many of the most iconic circuits in North America with some of the best training grounds for young talent.
In addition to the series that Racing America fans have come to know and love over the years, spectators will be exposed to new cars and series, as Rush and Prototype America join the platform in 2027.
The largest spec racing class in the world in 2026, Rush Auto Works will join Racing America in 2027. Incorporating both the Rush National Series with seven event weekends and the Rush West Coast Series with another five rounds, Rush competitors will have the opportunity to compete on some of the most iconic tracks in the country.
Another new series joining the Racing America platform in 2027 will be Prototype America. With eight rounds on the calendar, competitors can expect two sprint races and a one-hour endurance race during each event weekend.
In its inaugural year, Prototype America will introduce the Founders Cup, offering the first 20 competitors to register for the season preferred pricing on entry fees and exclusive Prototype America merchandise. Registration will open in November.
