Meredith Tops Grubaugh Sprint Car Showdown

LAKE CITY, Fla. — The third annual Tim Grubaugh Sprint Car Showdown at All-Tech Raceway delivered 25 laps of exciting night of 360 sprint car action, with a dramatic turn of events in the closing laps handing Trey Meredith the victory on Saturday night.

Ricky Peterson appeared to have the race well in hand, building a commanding lead over the field as the laps wound down. With just five laps remaining, Peterson looked to be on his way to victory. However, in a sudden turn of events, Peterson struck one of the tractor tires positioned along the inside of Turn 2, ending his run at the front of the field.

The incident opened the door for Meredith, who had been running a comfortable second behind Peterson. Meredith inherited the lead and took advantage of the opportunity, going on to capture the victory in the third annual event.

Chris Martin brought home a second-place finish, while Tyler Clem rounded out the podium in third. Corbin Gurley finished fourth, with Sport Allen completing the top five.
