Rain Stops Lincoln Speedweek Run

LINCOLN, Ill. — FloRacing Night in America’s 2026 Illinois Speedweek rolled into Lincoln Speedway on Thursday evening, and the only thing that could stop a talent-laden field of 36 Super Late Model entries were persistent showers.

With Sunoco Race Fuels Qualifying and one heat race in the books along with multiple passing rain showers, a final knock-out blow of precipitation struck the quarter-mile oval just after 8 p.m. CT forcing the program to be halted.

Series and track officials are evaluating potential reschedule dates.

Illinois Speedweek action now will see the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) take the lead with events at Farmer City (Ill.) Speedway and Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, which are set for Friday and Saturday, May 8 – 9.
