Haas Factory Team Hires John Hunter Nemechek

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Haas Factory Team announced that John Hunter Nemechek will join the organization next season.

Nemechek will drive one of its three full-time entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, with Pye-Barker Fire & Safety serving as the car’s primary sponsor throughout the season.

Nemechek brings a proven record of success across NASCAR’s national series, with 11 career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victories and 13 Craftsman Truck Series wins. Now in his fourth full-time NASCAR Cup Series season, he has also amassed three career top-five and 17 top-10 finishes at the sport’s highest level.

The son of former O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion Joe Nemechek, John Hunter earned his first series victory at Kansas Speedway in 2018, recording 11 top-10 finishes in 18 starts that season. He finished seventh in the championship standings in his first full-time O’Reilly Auto Parts Series campaign in 2019 while making his NASCAR Cup Series debut later that season at Texas Motor Speedway. After competing full time in the Cup Series in 2020, Nemechek rejoined the O’Reilly Series the following season.

Nemechek enjoyed one of the strongest seasons of his career in 2023, capturing seven victories and recording 17 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes en route to a fourth-place championship finish. He began competing full time in the Cup Series again in 2024 and earned his most recent O’Reilly Series victory at Nashville Superspeedway later that June.

“John Hunter brings the experience and talent we’re looking for at Haas Factory Team,” said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team. “We’re excited to have him join our organization and look forward to competing for wins and championships together.”

“I’m excited to join Haas Factory Team’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program,” said Nemechek. “They have championship-caliber cars and personnel, and I’m ready to get to work with this group and compete for wins in 2027.”

“We’ve been part of John Hunter’s journey for a long time, and we’re proud to keep going with him at Haas Factory Team,” said Bart Proctor, CEO of Pye-Barker. “For us, every race is a chance to celebrate the Pye-Barker team and the values we share, and to represent them with pride on a national stage.”

Nemechek will pilot the No. 41 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet, partnering with crew chief Jason Trinchere to lead the team’s efforts in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
