Marks Runs Down Larson At Lincoln

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. — When Kyle Larson earned the pole for Monday night’s Pennsylvania Speedweek sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway, many thought the race was already over.

Nobody told Brent Marks.

Marks started 13th on the three-eighths-mile dirt track and blasted his way toward the front, catching Larson in lapped traffic on lap 15. After a spirited battle, Marks took the lead on lap 18 and led the remainder of the 30-lap event for his first Speedweek victory in three races this week.

It was Marks’ seventh victory of the season and he now has a Speedweek triumph to go with three World of Outlaws wins and a pair of All Star triumphs.

Larson came home second in Paul Silva’s No. 57, while Speedweek point leader Anthony Macri, who won the first two rounds of the series before Sunday’s event was rained out, finished third.

Troy Wagaman and Justin Peck rounded out the top five.

The series continues Tuesday night at Grandview Speedway. Catch all the action on SPEED SPORT affiliate, DirtTrackDigest.tv.
