United Autosports Extends Pact With Oreca

United Autosports has fielded the Oreca 07 LMP2 since 2019, and through the eight-year tenure, has had multiple success stories including two category wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2020 & 2024), a Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona victory (2025) and a triumph at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring (2026) as well as many other race wins, podiums and championships across the teams global platform.

Accelerating to Round Two of this year’s European Le Mans Series at The Circuit Paul Ricard, where the team won the four-hour race in the south of France, United Autosports co-founder, Richard Dean and Oreca Group President, Hugues de Chaunac confirmed that the longstanding relationship will continue through to 2032, with the next generation of LMP2 car. The introduction of the Oreca 09 will join the grid from 2028, where United Autosports will be the first team to run the new prototype.

The extension cements the relationship between United Autosports and the Oreca Group, both showing confidence and trust, not only within the development of the 09 chassis, but the future of endurance racing.

“It’s great to be extending our partnership with Oreca through to 2032 as we transition to the new 09 chassis”, says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO & Team Principal. “Our longstanding relationship with the entire Oreca team, is backed by a proven track record – two Le Mans victories, the Daytona 24 Hours last year and more recently our first IMSA one-two at the 12 Hours of Sebring, as well as many championship titles just to name a few. This year marks the eighth consecutive year United Autosports have fielded the Oreca 07 LMP2 across multiple championships and I firmly believe the Oreca 07 to be one of, if not the most successful race car designs of recent history.  We are excited to continue making unforgettable memories together with Oreca Motorsport and the next generation LMP2 car.”

This next development of chassis represents a major step forward for the class, engineered specifically to satisfy our demanding competitive standards and the rigorous needs of top-tier privateer operations and customer racing. The Oreca 09 LMP2 car leverages from the immense trackside experience accumulated by the French manufacturer since their inception in 1973. United Autosports and Oreca share the same vision – a machine that is purpose built for raw performance and reliability, a machine that wins championships. For the team, this represents more than just a generation change in the car, but a deep-rooted dedication to the LMP2 grid. Oreca Motorsport serves as a foundational pillar within global sports car racing.

Hugues de Chaunac, Oreca Group President added:

“I couldn’t be happier today as United Autosports renews its trust in ORECA with a clear ambition: to win, you need the best teams, the best drivers and the best car. I’m also delighted to see such a strong and clear future for the LMP2 category from 2028 onwards. By then, many ORECA chassis will certainly be on the grid, but United Autosports will have the privilege of running the very first one.”
