CENTER LISLE, N.Y. — Thunder Mountain Speedway celebrated the 250th Anniversary with a fantastic night of racing.
P.J. Goodwin held off Daniel Morgiewicz for the Dirt Track Digest TV Modified victory, while
Goodwin’s win in the Dirt Track Digest TV Modified 35-lap feature didn’t come without a fight. Goodwin took the lead on lap two but was challenged the entire way by Morgiewicz.
Goodwin moved to the top spot on lap two before Morgiewicz announced his presence in the opening stages. Goodwin worked the middle groove while Morgiewicz patiently searched the inside lane.
Morgiewicz edged ahead by a nose for the first time on lap 24, only for Goodwin to drive back by him. Five laps later, Morgiewicz again took the lead by inches at the start-finish line, but Goodwin regained the top spot one lap later.
Morgiewicz narrowly took the lead again on lap 29 before Goodwin answered once more. Goodwin went on to claim the victory, with Morgiewicz finishing second. Matt Smith was third, while Darren Smith charged from 18th to finish fourth. Alan Barker rebounded from an early race incident to round out the top five.
Jordan McCreadie outdueled Brandon Loucks to win the DIRTcar 358 Modified feature.
Jerry Lobdell Jr. (factory stocks), Brandon Loucks (600 cc modifieds), Cameron Searls (600 cc sprints) and Luke Powell (sportsman) also found victory lane on Saturday.
