LEE, N.H. — When the dust settled and the checkered flag unfurled at Lee USA Speedway Friday night, race fans were on the edge of their seats.
It was round two in the Seacoast Late Model Challenge Series with Ryan Kuhn taking the victory.
Kuhn grabbed the early lead in the Reinbold Insurance No. 63MA. Kuhn earned the pole position in plus/minus handicap qualifying and quickly launched away with the early lead.
All things remained settled until lap 66 caution for Colby Meserve’s turn one spin to re-rack the field. Now alongside Jimmy Renfrew, Jr., the two ran side-by-side until turn three with Renfrew jumping to the bottom and rooting Kuhn up the track to steal the lead.
The lap-77 restart following young Ayla Martin’s spin on the backstretch brought with it a final twist. Kuhn returned the favor in turn one on lap 83 to regain the lead by inches at the line as the two ran side-by-side with Geoff Rollins laying in wait behind them.
Ryan Kuhn would nail down the win 17 laps later with Geoff Rollins edging Renfrew at the line for second.
Renfrew bounced back to win the street stock feature, while Carl Gagne topped the Ridge Runner class. Josh Valliere won the Crown Vic feature.
