Hartzfeld Is Hidden Valley Star

CLEARFIELD, Pa. — Bruce Hartzfeld of Treasure Lake picked up his first Penn-Ohio Pro Stock Feature of the season Friday night at Hidden Valley Speedway.
Zack Frantz of Big Run and Greg Kiehl of Fairmont City joined him as new winners this season in the Little’s Drive-In Auto Sales Four Cylinder make up from July 3 and the regular program.
Repeat winners include Clearfield’s Gary Little picked up the Semi Late win, with Jimmy Holden of Tiona winning the Small Block Modified main and Ryan Shaffner of Shilo picking up the Pure Stock win.
Gary Little and Dylan Fenton brought the Semi Late feature to the start, with Little taking the lead and Fenton in second and Tom Vilello was a close third and pursued Fenton until lap six when he dove under Fenton on the backstretch and ran there through turns three and four. Exiting the fourth turn, Vilello took second and he had his sights on Little. As the non-stop 20-lapper continued, Vilello was reeling in the leader, but Sam McClellan waved his double checkered flags before Vilello could catch Little. At the finish it was Little getting his third win of the season, Vilello had his best run of the season with a second, while Fenton, Jeremy Lippert and Justin Owens completed the top five. Little also won the heat.
Levi Picard and Jimmy Holden brought the Small Block Modifieds to the green flag after Kyle Holden couldn’t answer the call. When McClellan started the 20-lapper, Holden took the lead and Picard ran second. While Holden led from start to finish, Picard had to hold back the younger Holden, Hayden, who was in search of a win, and he was able to move into second on lap four. He chased his dad the rest of the way, while fending off Picard and Craig Casher, but when the double checkers waved it was Jimmy Holden getting win number six on the season. Hayden Holden was second, Picard was third, Casher was fourth and BJ Hudson was fifth. The heat was won by Picard.
The Blooms led the Penn Ohio Pro Stock feature to the green with Jim “Animal” on the pole and son Josh on the outside, as dad took the lead and son followed the first three laps, the battle for second was exciting, as Josh Bloom, Mitch Stiles, Bruce Hartzfeld and Fuzzy Fields jockeyed for second, with the second spot changing several times a lap, but on lap four, Hartzfeld made it stick as he took second and left the others to fight for third. While they were battling for position,  Hartzfeld was reeling in Jim Bloom. Then on lap five, Fields was able to wrestle third away from Josh Bloom.
Fields then reeled in the leaders and the top three were under a blanket racing for the top spot. On lap nine, Hartzfeld moved along side of Jim Bloom and they went door-to-door until lap 10, when Hartzfeld took over the lead and Bloom dropped to second, then with two laps to go, Fields was able to finally wrestle second away from Jim Bloom. When the checkered flags fell it was Hartzfeld taking his first HVS win of the season with Fields in second, Jim Bloom third, Josh Bloom fourth and Stiles in fifth. Jim Bloom won the heat.
Another Bloom led the Pure Stock feature to the start, this time Noah was on the pole and Eric Lucas was outside the front row with Bloom taking the lead and Ryan Jones in second with Lucas third. Bloom led the opening three laps, when Ryan Shaffner made his presence known by going to the high side and trying to get the lead. It was Shaffner on the outside and Bloom on the inside, with Shaffner taking the lead on lap five off the fourth turn. Shaffner would go on to get his third win of the season with Bloom holding on to second over Lucas, Kaleb Fields and Jones. Heat wins went to Bloom and Lucas.
Joe Huber and Zack Frantz sat on the front row of the Littles Drive-In Auto Sales Four Cylinder feature as Frantz took the lead and Huber was second. The race went non-stop as Frantz led flag-to-flag for his first win of the season with Huber coming in second over Greg Kiehl, Tyler Gill and Eric Luzier. Heat wins went to Huber and Frantz.
The make up Littles Drive-In Auto Sales Four Cylinder feature from July 3 saw Greg Kiehl take the lead from Greg Snell at the start and he led the event the whole way, with Allen Robison in third, Scott Robison and Tyler Gill completing the top five.
