STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. — Marcello Rufrano claimed the SK Modified headliner during Friday night racing at Stafford Motor Speedway.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Tyler Chapman took the early lead at the start with Todd Owen, Marcello Rufrano, Anthony Flannery, and Ethan Durocher lined up behind him. Owen made a move to the inside of Chapman on lap-7 to take over the race lead. Chapman fit his car into second in between Owen and Rufrano in third with Flannery still fourth and Keith Rocco was now fifth as he went by Durocher on lap-9. Chapman and Owen touched in turn 4 fighting for the lead with the cars touching and spinning to bring the caution flag out.
Rufrano was the new leader back under green with Rocco, Flannery, Anthony Bello, and Andrew Molleur making up the top five. Molleur went by Flannery on lap-11 to move into fourth place and that move allowed Glen Reen to take fifth and drop Flannery back to sixth as Rufrano continued to lead Rocco and Bello.
Rocco nearly took the lead from Rufrano on lap-17 but was unable to complete the pass. With 25 laps complete, Rocco was still searching for a way to get around Rufrano for the lead with Bello, Reen, and Molleur making up the top five.
With 5 laps left to go, Rocco was still looking for a way to get around Rufrano and take over the race lead with Bello, Reen, and Molleur still making up the top five.
Rufrano held Rocco off to the checkered flag to pick up his third win of the 2026 season. Bello finished third with Reen and Molleur rounding out the top five.
Wayne Coury Jr. was the Late Model feature winner, Chris Matthew notched a second consecutive victory in the SK Light feature, and PJ Evans took down his first win of the season in the Street Stock feature.
Travis Hydar won the Limited Late Model feature but he was disqualified following post-race inspection.
