OHSWEKEN, Ontario — David Gravel may just be unstoppable at Ohsweken Speedway.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars returned to the Canadian track last season after eight years away, and Gravel and the Big Game Motorsports group dominated by sweeping both nights. Other competitors led both features, but each time Gravel patiently worked his way to the front for the win.
A similar scenario played out Wednesday night as the tour visited Ohsweken for the $20,000-to-win Federated Auto Parts Six Nation Showdown. Gravel fired off from the pole for the 35-lapper, but it was Carson Macedo getting the early advantage from his outside.
Gravel kept the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 within his sights as the opening half of the race unfolded. He matched Macedo’s every move in traffic, waiting for the right time.
The door opened at the race’s halfway point when Macedo slipped out of Turn 4, and Gravel used a huge run to dart to his inside down the front straightaway and muscle by in the first set of corners. Then it was time for Gravel to work his magic on the slick surface as he motored away for a third consecutive Ohsweken score.
“Just like last year I felt like we weren’t that great early on, and then once we burned this fuel load off, the car came to life,” Gravel said. “Carson was really good with the fuel load. Right about halfway the car started coming to me, and I got the wing back. For whatever reason it was kind of déjà vu. I’ve got to thank Cody (Jacobs), Zach (Patterson), and Luke (Vaughn) for giving me a great race car all night long. What a night.”
Gravel became the first driver through 15 series visits to top three in a row at the Ontario, Canada oval, and he’s now one away from equaling Donny Schatz for the most total. The Big Game Motorsports No. 2 is up to eight wins in 2026 with The Greatest Show on Dirt.
It was also another $20,000 in the pocket of the sport’s highest earning team this year. Gravel’s point lead grew to 136 markers as he chases a third championship in a row.
Logan Schuchart brought the Shark Racing/Federated Auto Parts No. 1s home second for his 11th straight series top 10 and sixth top five over that span.
Sheldon Haudenschild drove the KCP Racing/NOS Energy Drink No. 18 to a third-place effort for his 16th podium of the season.
D.J. Christie made the home fans proud by turning his first World of Outlaws Feature start into a fourth-place run.
Donny Schatz completed the top five.
Kenny Wallace won the UMP modified feature.
