Open Wheel Showdown Surpasses 175 Entries

LAS VEGAS — In just more than three days times nearly all entries have sold out for the Nov. 6-8 Open Wheel Showdown at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Race promoter Davey Hamilton Jr. told SPEED SPORT on Wednesday that entries are sold out in the modified, Legend car and Bandolero classes, with the event having surpassed 175 entries.

A handful of spots remain for the $50,000-to-win sprint car event, while entries are also open for the Larry Trigueiro Memorial Supermodified race.

It is the most entries in the three-year history of the Open Wheel Showdown.

The winners of the first two runnings of the event — Aaron Willison and Kody Swanson — headline the confirmed sprint car competitors.

Entries were also received from Hamilton, Bobby Santos, Jake Trainer, Bryan Gossel, Natalie Waters, Joe Ligouri, JoJo Helberg, Evan Margeson, Jim Waters, Ryan Litt, Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Colton Bettis among others.

All 40 spaces were filled for the modified division, including defending race winner Aaron McMorran.
