Eastern Sprint Rankings Opens, Larson On Top

The East region is the only one that has opened the 410 winged sprint car season, with Sunday’s race at Pennsylvania’s Lincoln Speedway the fifth of the season.

Kyle Larson, who won twice during the DIRTcar Nationals at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park, leads the Eastern region.

More races are scheduled in the Eastern stanza this weekend, while the West region is scheduled to open as well.

The National Sprint Car Rankings will not open until drivers start reaching the 20-start plateau later this spring. It is the 17th season the National Sprint Car Rankings have been administered by Gary Spaid.

Four different drivers have won the five races run so far this season.

Last year, 871 drivers competed in at least one of the 486 410 winged sprint car features that were run. More than 630 events are scheduled this season.
