Rising NASCAR Late Model racer Sally Mott and drifter Wes Cloud are this week’s guests on The Pits Are Open with Will Marotti.
Sally Mott is a rising racing driver known for her determination, precision, and competitive spirit. With a background rooted in grassroots motorsports, Sally has steadily advanced through the ranks by combining raw speed with a disciplined, technical approach to racing. She is recognized for her strong race craft, adaptability across different cars and conditions, and her commitment to continual improvement.
Off the track, Sally is an advocate for increased opportunities for women in motorsports, inspiring the next generation through her work ethic, professionalism, and passion for the sport. Sally made her NASCAR Late Model debut April 18th at Hickory Motor Speedway. Most recently Sally tested, for the first time, in an open wheel F1000 Car.
Wesley “Wes” Cloud is based in the Middle Tennessee area. A 2022 appearance on The Circle of Drift identified him as a local Tennessee drifter who had just completed his first Pro-Am season of competitive drifting.
His January 2025 Circle of Drift appearance specifically centered on pursuing an FD license, Corvette setup and competition issues.
One of Cloud’s distinguishing features is his choice of machinery. Rather than the Nissan S-chassis, 350Z/370Z, BMW or other platforms commonly associated with grassroots drifting, Cloud has competed in a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette.
