Dietz’s 23rd Win Pays 7 Grand At Lincoln

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. — Lincoln Speedway took center stage Wednesday night as the PA Posse 410 Series returned to the Pigeon Hills for a 35-lap, $7,000-to-win showdown.

Chase Dietz and Freddie Rahmer entered the night separated by just 100 points in the battle for the Lincoln Speedway track championship, adding even more importance to the midweek event.

Troy Wagaman and Ryan Smith led the field to the green flag.

Smith grabbed the early lead, with Wagaman and Dietz battling side-by-side for second. Dietz eventually secured the position while Dallas Schott settled into fourth and Freddie Rahmer ran fifth.

Rahmer quickly began applying pressure to Schott and eventually moved into fourth, while the top three of Smith, Dietz and Wagaman began to separate themselves from the field.

Dietz was relentless in his pursuit of Smith, closing in on the leader as lapped traffic came into play. With the leaders approaching slower traffic, Dietz continued searching for a way around Smith.

On Lap 10, Dietz found it.

Dietz got by Smith on the backstretch to take the lead. Wagaman followed and moved into second, dropping Smith to third.

The battle behind the leaders was just as intense. Anthony Macri, making his return to racing after an injury, moved into the top five. Rahmer settled into third as the field continued to work through traffic.

Dietz began working his way through the slower cars while Wagaman remained within striking distance of the leader.

Meanwhile, Macri continued to close in on Rahmer as the two battled for third. With lapped traffic playing a role, Macri edged ahead of Rahmer by a nose at the start-finish line with 10 laps remaining.

The race’s final caution flew on Lap 26 when Rahmer suffered a flat tire, setting up a nine-lap dash to the finish.

Dietz led the field back to green with Wagaman, Macri, Matt Campbell and Schott rounding out the top five.

Dietz maintained command on the restart, while Schott moved around Campbell to take over fourth. Campbell immediately went back to work, staying within striking distance of Schott with just five laps remaining.

Dietz scored his 10th win of the season at Lincoln with his victory. It was his 23rd overall win this year.

Macri crossed the line second in his return to racing. Wagaman Jr. finished third, Campbell was fourth and Schott completed the top five.

Jayden Wolf powered his way to victory, taking control of the 20-lap 358 Sprint Car feature after a late-race battle for the lead.
