Winning streaks are difficult to come by in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. Don’t tell that to Kalitta Motorsports and Top Fuel point leader Shawn Langdon.
Langdon defeated teammate Doug Kalitta in the final round with the first 340 mph run in Rockingham Dragway history. Langdon stopped the clocks at 342.73 on his winning run.
Langdon’s sixth victory of the season also marked his second three-race winning streak of the campaign while he extended his point lead to 25 markers over Kalitta with four races remaining in the Countdown to the Championship.
Matt Hagan claimed a dominant victory for Tony Stewart Racing in the Funny Car class and extended his point lead to 84 over Jordan Vandergriff as Hagan chases a fifth championship.
Greg Stanfield won in Pro Stock and Richard Gadson triumphed in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
