TRENTON, N.J. — Plans are underway for the 2027 Indoor Auto Racing Championship Series, with dates confirmed for January events in Allentown, Pa., and Atlantic City, N.J.
The series kicks off with the Allentown Indoor Races inside the PPL Center on Friday Jan. 8 and Sat. Jan. 9, featuring a full program of TQ Midgets, Champ Karts and Slingshots.
Last year, USAC star Briggs Danner delighted his hometown crowd by scoring his first career Indoor Series victory, while on Saturday, it was Harvard, Mass. drive Matt Swanson claiming an emotional checkered flag in honor of late car owner Jeff Ulrich.
From there, action shifts to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall for the 25th running of the NAPA Auto Parts Racing Weekend on Friday Jan. 29 and Saturday Jan. 30. Friday’s program will feature the BlackJack 21 for TQ Midgets, which was introduced in 2024.
Saturday night will once again be the prestigious Gambler’s Classic for the TQ Midgets, with Slingshot, 600 Micro Sprint and Champ Kart main events also on the card.
Last year, Danner once again parked his No. 78 in victory lane following Friday night’s BlackJack 21. Saturday’s Gambler’s Classic produced another first-time winner as Ontario, NY’s Trevor Catalano survived a crowd-pleasing, side-by-side battle with Kyle Lick for the $6,500 score, while Danner claimed his first ever Indoor title.
An event at Trenton’s CURE Insurance Arena, which played host to the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals for the last seven years and served as the series finale, will not be held. A suitable date for both the arena and the series wasn’t available, the arena play host to the Trenton Ironhawks ECHL Hockey Team starting this fall.
Ticket for Allentown and Atlantic City will go on sale Tuesday, September 22. Additional information, pre-sale dates and entry forms will be available in the coming weeks.
