NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR Cup Series star William Byron picked up his second super late model victory of the week during the finale of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Saturday at New Smyrna Speedway.
Byron, who starts 23rd in Sunday’s Daytona 500 driving for Hendrick Motorsports, controlled the Orange Blossom 100 while his Donnie Wilson Motorsports teammate Sammy Smith captured the weeklong championship thanks to one victory and an average finish 3.28.
Another regular at NASCAR’s top level, Ryan Preece, finished second. Smith finished third to lock up the super late model title. Daniel Dye, who finished third earlier in the day in the ARCA Menards Series opener at Daytona International Speedway, was fourth ahead of Jesse Love.
Terry Fisher won the Florida modified main event, Derek Pugh conquered the pro truck feature and Justin Spears was a winner in super stock action.
