BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Dale McDowell led the final seven laps of Thursday night’s Scott Bloomquist Memorial Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway.
Racing under the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series banner, the 50-lap race saw Chris Madden lead from the start. However, Madden suffered right-front suspension damage on lap 44, handing the lead to McDowell.
The veteran was solid from there, beating Jake O’Neil to the checkered flag by .943 seconds. McDowell earned $12,018 for the victory.
Garrett Smith, Jimmy Owens and Madden completed the top five.
