FARMER CITY, Ill. — It all came down to the final few feet as Tyler Erb won Friday night’s Farmer City 74 for the MARS Racing Series late models at Farmer City Raceway.
Making his winning move exiting the fourth turn on the final lap of the quarter-mile race track, Erb beat Ricky Thornton Jr. to the finish line by inches to bank the $15,000 victory.
It was round three of the four-race Illinois Speedweek.
Hudson O’Neal came home third, while Bobby Pierce romped from 20th to fourth. Brandon Sheppard finished fifth.
Thornton was the fast qualifier for the 52-car field with a lap of 13.058 seconds.
