Emotional Erb Is Gateway Star

ST. LOUIS — Tyler Erb received an emotional rescue on Saturday night at The Dome of The Americas.

Only four days after the death of his father, Mark, as the result of a heart attack, Erb captured the top prize in the Gateway Dirt Nationals, leading to an emotional victory lane celebration.

Erb grabbed the lead on a lap-33 restart and led the final eight laps en route to the $30,000 triumph.

Tanner English finished second, with Ricky Thornton Jr. racing from 13th to finish third.

Mike Spatola and Devin Moran rounded out the top five.

Thornton also won the modified feature.
