Webster Stops Nasse At Citrus County

INVERNESS, Fla. — The UARA United Auto Racing Alliance Super Late Model feature at Citrus County Speedway turned into a last-lap thriller Saturday night, as Daniel Webster capitalized on a late restart to snatch victory from Stephen Nasse in a breathtaking finish.

For much of the 125-lap main event, Webster and Nasse were locked in a relentless duel, trading the lead and pushing each other to the edge of adhesion. Nasse appeared to have the upper hand in the closing stages, taking control of the race as the laps wound down.

Then came the curveball.

A caution flag flew with just six laps remaining, erasing Nasse’s advantage and setting up a dramatic, side-by-side restart that brought the crowd to its feet.

When the green flag dropped, Webster wasted no time. Launching with precision on the outside lane, he powered alongside Nasse and edged ahead in a door-to-door battle that felt like it stretched for miles instead of laps. Webster completed the pass and held firm over the final circuits, crossing the line just 0.172 seconds ahead of Nasse.

Nasse, who posted the fastest lap of the race at 13.886 seconds, showed dominant speed throughout the night but was forced to settle for second after leading late.

Colin Allman crossed the stripe in third, followed by Michael Hinde in fourth and Cody Stickler rounding out the top five.

Completing the top ten were Nick Neri, T.J. DeCaire, Michael Goddard, Jared Irvan and Chad Rutherford.

In a race defined by patience, precision, and one perfectly timed restart, Webster proved that in short track racing, it’s not just about leading laps—it’s about leading the right one.
