BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Spears Manufacturing has become title sponsor of the CARS Tour West, with the series being rebranded as Spears CARS Tour West.
Synonymous with West Coast racing and helping build tomorrow’s champions, the Spears name has been a staple in racing since 1987 when West Coast Stock Car Hall of Famer Wayne Spears and his wife Connie founded Spears Motorsports.
Since making their way on to the racing scene, Spears has been instrumental in West Coast racing from sponsoring drivers and series to having their own team.
“Today, Spears Manufacturing reaffirms our commitment to motorsports that has been such an important part of the Spears family and business for decades,” said Matt Baker, Vice President of Sales Operations for Spears Manufacturing Company. “We are proud to partner with the CARS Tour West and our friend, Kevin Harvick. The 2025 season will mark the 30th anniversary of the first year Kevin was behind the wheel for Spears Motorsports, and we look forward to being a part of the excitement the CARS Tour West is bringing to racetracks throughout the west.”
CARS Tour West co-owner Harvick first joined Spears Motorsports in 1995 and during his time driving for the Spears family, Harvick earned multiple wins, the 1998 Winston West championship and most importantly, began making a name for himself. Harvick’s time driving for the Spears family concluded after the 1998 season, but a lifetime friendship was created. While Harvick continued to move through the NASCAR ranks to become the 2014 Cup Series Champion before retiring from full time racing in 2023, the Spears family continued to support various levels of motorsports and built one of the most successful West Coast racing programs.

The Spears CARS Tour West will kick off the 2025 season at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on Jan. 25.
