Truck Series Qualifying Rained Out, Smith On Pole In Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying was canceled on Friday afternoon due to inclement weather affecting Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The starting lineup for Saturday’s Fr8 208 was set by performance metrics.

Front Row Motorsports Ford driver and points leader Zane Smith, the reigning series champion, was dealt pole at the 1.54-mile track. ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski, in another Ford, will join Smith on the front row.

Majeski’s teammate Ben Rhodes and McAnally Hilgemann Racing driver Christian Eckes (Chevrolet) will start on the second row. Niece Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar completed the top five in another Chevrolet. Corey Heim, Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton, Chase Purdy and Matt DiBendetto will round out the top 10 on the grid for Saturday’s 135-lap event.

The Fr8 208, the third race of the Truck Series season, is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. (ET) on Saturday.
