LAKEVILLE, Conn. — Thomas Annunziata (No. 70 Nitro Motorsports Toyota) scored his first ARCA Menards Series victory in the Lime Rock Park 100. Annunziata started from the General Tire Pole but was forced to come from the back of the field after contact from another car in the first turn of the first lap sent him spinning off course.
Despite being forced to race from the tail of the field, Annunziata led 32 of the race’s 68 laps, the most of any driver.
Annunziata is also chasing the Trans Am TA 2 championship with Nitro Motorsports. Annunziata finished second in the TA2 race at Lime Rock on Memorial Day weekend.
Annunziata departed the track shortly after Saturday’s race to fly to Road America where he will start Sunday’s race from the rear of the field. Watch it LIVE on SPEED SPORT 1.
• Alon Day (No. 25 JSSI Toyota) finished second in his first career ARCA Menards Series start. Day led 20 laps prior to the scheduled break at lap 34 but missed the entrance to pit road and was forced to restart the race from the tail. Day turned laps quicker than the leader and was able to close the gap considerably but ran out of time at the end, finishing 4.139 seconds behind Annunziata at the finish.
• Lawless Alan (No. 20 AUTOParkIt Toyota) finished third for the fourth consecutive ARCA Menards Series race. He also finished third at Michigan International Speedway, Berlin Raceway, and Elko Speedway.
• ARCA Menards Series championship points leader Brenden Queen (No. 28 BestRepair.net Chevrolet) was hoping for an uneventful day, and for the most part that’s what he had, finishing fourth.
Queen slipped the left side tires into the dirt while feeling some pressure from Alan, but otherwise ran a clean race in his first start of any type on a road course.
• Ryan Gemmell (No. 29 TC3 Turf/Multibuilding Inc. Chevrolet) scored a career-best fifth-place finish in just his second career series start. Gemmell drives for 1992 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Joe Nemechek’s Historic Stockcar Racing team, which races exclusively on road courses.
• Brent Crews (No. 18 Mobil 1 Toyota) finished sixth after a couple of incidents sent him to the tail of the field. Crews also spun into the grass after contact from Annunziata’s spinning car in turn one of the first lap.
He had recovered to battle for the lead, but he beat Annunziata to the restart line coming out of the halfway break and was forced to make a pass-through on pit road. Crews also frequently turned laps faster than the leader over the final 30 laps but could not make up the lost track position.
• Lavar Scott (No. 6 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet) finished seventh, his best career series finish on a road course. His previous best was a ninth-place run at Watkins Glen International in 2024.
• Jeff Anton (No. 3 Squid Decals / Deer Creek Recycling Chevrolet) finished eighth in his first ARCA Menards Series start and his first ARCA Menards Series platform start since 2012 when he made a pair of East starts at New Hampshire International Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway. Anton had made a total of 70 East starts over the course of nine seasons.
• Dale Quarterley (No. 4 Van Dyk Recycling Chevrolet), a two-time ARCA Menards Series East winner at Lime Rock Park, recovered from a spin after contact with Crews in turn six to finish ninth.
• Isabella Robusto (No. 55 Yahoo Toyota) scored her fifth top-ten finish of the season; she was the final driver on the lead lap.
