Pikes Peak Hill Climb Is One Week Away

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — With just one week remaining until the 104th Running of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, presented by Gran Turismo, three of the most accomplished drivers in Race history are preparing for a battle that could define this year’s Race to the Clouds.

Defending King of the Mountain Simone Faggioli, four-time champion Robin Shute and overall record holder Romain Dumas will each arrive on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain with legitimate aspirations of claiming the overall victory on June 21.

Together, the trio owns 10 King of the Mountain titles, multiple course records and some of the fastest runs ever recorded on the 12.42-mile course.

The reigning 2025 King of the Mountain enters Race Week with one of the most impressive resumes in Pikes Peak history. In his 2018 debut, Faggioli recorded an 8:37.230, still the third-fastest time ever run on America’s Mountain and the standing rear-wheel-drive record.

After conquering a shortened course in 2025, the Italian hill climb legend returns with a new Nova Proto NP01 ATM Bardahl and his sights set on a second consecutive overall victory.

A four-time King of the Mountain, Shute has established himself as one of the most successful competitors of the modern era. His personal-best run of 8:40.080 in 2023 delivered his fourth overall victory and remains among the fastest times in event history.

This year, Shute arrives with an all-new machine. His custom-built Sendycar V1 features a 2.3-liter Synergy V8 turbocharged engine producing more than 700 horsepower while weighing just 1,300 pounds, creating one of the most intriguing entries in the 2026 field.

Few names carry more weight on Pikes Peak than Romain Dumas. The French driver holds the all-time course record of 7:57.148 and has repeatedly rewritten the history books on America’s Mountain.

In 2024, Dumas claimed King of the Mountain honors behind the wheel of Ford’s revolutionary F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, an electric prototype producing more than 1,600 horsepower. The purpose-built machine became one of the most talked-about vehicles in Pikes Peak history,

After finishing second overall in 2025, Dumas returns seeking redemption behind the wheel of Ford’s Super Mustang Mach-E. Dumas once again enters Race Week as a favorite for the overall victory and another King of the Mountain crown.
