Following a flip in Saturday night’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park, Bill Balog has been released from the hospital.
On social media Sunday morning, Balog’s PR team posted an update, stating that “Bill is on his way home.”
“No broken bones (thank goodness) just soft tissue damage. Luckily we have a few weeks off before the next race to rest and heal up. Thank you everyone for the positive messages!”
Prior to his wreck, Balog had piloted his No. 17b sprint car to a heat race win and third-place start in the DIRTcar Nationals finale.
Balog scored two top-10 finishes to kick off the World of Outlaws season as he sits 12th in the standings.
