McIntosh Strikes First In Turnpike Challenge

SAPULPA, Okla. — Cannon McIntosh masterfully worked traffic to earn his first feature win of 2025 while battling at Creek County Speedway with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues on night one of the annual Turnpike Challenge.

Speedy on-track excitement with 48 talented entries in the POWRi National and West Midgets would saw Gunnar Setser start the action off with quick-time in qualifying of 13.115 seconds.

Jacob Denney shared the front row with McIntosh and grabbed the early lead.

Taking the lead on the second lap, McIntosh appeared to be the quickest in the early stages of the feature by cruising around the top side of the speedway.

Shuffling through the field, Jason McDougal would maneuver into runner-up with Denney, Thomas Meseraull and Blake Hahn all within striking distance inside the top five.

Cruising into the lead around the mid-point of the feature, McDougal sailed into the lead past McIntosh with Denney bearing down on the two front-runners.

Retaking the lead with less than 10 laps remaining, McIntosh worked traffic, slinging past McDougal for the preferred position on the field as Denney followed suite to set up a thrilling dash for the finish.

Holding steady for the final revolutions around Creek County Speedway, McIntosh earned his 27th career feature win with the POWRi National Midget League.

Denney finished second, with Meseraull rounding out the podium.

“It took me doing my job to get this win after the crew gave me such a great car tonight,” said McIntosh. “I knew it was going to get tricky with lap traffic so I was patient and waited for my moment.”

Hahn and McDougal completed the top five.
