Known affectionately as The Big Go, NHRA’s most prestigious event, the U.S. Nationals was run for the 72nd time at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
The fan-favorite nitro categories saw a pair of familiar faces dominate their respective divisions to further cement their winning legacies at drag racing’s biggest event.
Shawn Langdon qualified No. 1 in the Top Fuel class and ripped through the ladder before defeating NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart in the final round. Langdon’s third U.S. Nationals victory also counted as his fifth win of the NHRA season.
It was all Jack Beckman in the Funny Car category. Driving a car with a paint scheme honoring his famous boss, John Force, Beckman blasted through eliminations, earning his third U.S. Nationals Wally with a final-round win over Matt Hagan.
Dallas Glenn was a first-time U.S. Nationals winner in the Pro Stock division.
