FREMONT, Ohio — Zeth Sabo has been so close to a lot of wins in 2026. While the Tiffin, Ohio, driver scored a pair of wins during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, he hadn’t won at his home track of Fremont Speedway Presented by the FriendShip Kitchen.
That all changed Saturday night.
Sabo, who switched race teams about a month ago, moving to the Rudzik Excavating team, took the lead from Chris Andrews after a torrid battle midway through the 30-lap affair and survived two late-race cautions to score his third career Fremont win.
After T.J. Michael led the opening lap in the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint A-main, Andrews took over for laps 2-16 with Sabo taking charge on lap 17 and Andrews going back by on lap 18. Sabo retook the lead on lap 19 and began to pull away. Meanwhile Cap Henry, who wrapped up his third straight Fremont track title, drove into second on lap 23. But Sabo had a fantastic restart following a caution with six laps to go and drove away to the win over Henry, Andrews, Michael and Craig Mintz.
“I can’t thank the Rudzik guys enough for the opportunity to drive this thing. Kevin had the car perfect. I was kind of searching around and under a caution Kevin told me to go up top and it worked out. We’ve been so close so many times this year and to finally get a win here going into a big Jim Ford weekend with the All Stars is huge,” said Sabo.
Henry completed the trifecta in 2026, wrapping up the Attica Raceway Park, Fremont Speedway and All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group title.
The AFCS title is the fifth for Henry and his fourth in a row for the 2026 Ohio Sprint Speedweek champion.
“I took it easy early in that race knowing I couldn’t risk losing the championship. Winning all three titles and a speedweek championship this year is a testament to the hard work of my guys, Jeff, Zack, Gary and Chris and all the great sponsors who make this possible. Now that we are done point racing it’s time to go get the Jim Ford Classic,” said Henry.
Like Henry, Bryan Sebetto also won the Attica and Fremont track titles and the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS titles. He also won his eighth Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint feature of the year at Fremont after a spirited battle with Jamie Miller.
Daniel Hoffman led the first two laps of the 25-lap 305 feature but spun, handing the lead to Miller who surrendered the lead to Sebetto on lap four. Miller drove back to the front the following lap and he and Sebetto ran side by side until getting into lapped traffic on lap 13 when Sebetto drove into the lead. Miller, who is the only driver to beat Sebetto at Fremont in 2026, retook the lead on lap 19. A caution with just four laps to go gave Sebetto the chance to pounce and he took advantage, driving back to the point the final three laps for his 13th overall win of 2026 over Miller, 12th starter Paul Weaver, Dustin Dinan and Seth Schneider.
The victory is Sebetto’s 36th career win at Fremont, putting him into a tie with his car owner Bobby Clark and Byron Reed for 13th on the track’s all-time win list.
“This goes to show how hard my guys work. Tony works six days a week in the shop. I can’t thank everyone at Bobby Clark Racing enough for making me and my wife part of their family. We have so much fun doing this and to win two track championships and the AFCS is amazing,” said Sebetto.
Shawn Valenti held off several challenges from Keith Sorg before scoring his third Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck feature win of the season. After Steve Miller led the first four laps, Valenti took over with Sorg hounding him the rest of the 16 laps including several restarts. Valenti scored his 94th career Fremont win to remain atop the all-time win list over Sorg, Jamie Miller, Kent Brewer and Art Howey Jr.
Valenti also wrapped up his sixth career Fremont dirt truck track championship.
