MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Vermeer Motorsports announced on Tuesday afternoon that Brady Bacon will run the final 10 races of the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing campaign, replacing Kerry Madsen.
This move comes at a critical time as Tanner Holmes’ Tuscarora 50 runner-up slotted the Buch Motorsports No. 13 team five points ahead of the Vermeer No. 55 for the all-important eighth-place in High Limit points.
For Vermeer, who is battling for the Joker Fund in pursuit of a lucrative card in the High Roller Club, the difference between eighth and ninth this year is $100,000 and carries immense weight in whether they gain a permanent card in the system which will doll out as much as $4.6 million in 2028. T
o earn that spot in 2028, the team must run top-eight in the standings this year and next.
“We want to thank Kerry [Madsen] for the last three years, and thank our partners for being so dedicated as we do everything we can to build a successful team,” team owner Tony Vermeer said. “We’re pleased to have Brady Bacon join our program for the rest of the season. He brings a wealth of talent and knowledge and we’re excited to work together.”
Through 44 High Limit events together this season, Madsen took the Vermeer No. 55 to 21 top-10 finishes, six top-five results, a podium at Texas (where the season finale is held), and a victory at Lucas Oil Speedway.
Bacon, a 36-year-old native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is a proven winner at all five remaining tracks on the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing calendar. He takes over this weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
