Hoffman wins Stars & Stripes Special At Grundy

MORRIS, Ill. — Veteran Eddie Hoffman raced to victory in Saturday evening’s Stars & Stripes 76 super late model stock car special at the Grundy County Speedway. 

Hoffman wheeled his Feece Oil Co./Advanced Generator Chevrolet No. 8 to the win — his 155th career victory (his second of the season) at the one-third mile paved oval.  

Chasing the eight-time track champion to the checkered flag in the caution-free chase were Blake Brown, Stan Zolodz, Tristan Batson, Clay Curts and D.J. Weltmeyer.  Andy Jones was the event’s fastest qualifier but dropped out of the race at the 53-lap mark.

Claiming his second victory of the year, Ryan Dawson was the winner of the of the 25-lap street stock feature race.  Dawson bested Matt Lee, Jonahtan Stevens, Chad Bayuk, Randy Weese and Kristi Odom. 

Ethan Wolf won the 20-lap headliner for pure stock (four-cylinder) competitors.  Scoring his second win of the campaign, Wolf finished ahead of Landon Hocking and Austin Legner. Jason Van Hise took home the victory in the 20-lap “sixers” main event while Jackson Martindale won the High School Racing Association feature.
