Crabtree & Amonett Share Redbud 400 Laurels

ANDERSON, Ind. — Two Indiana drivers put their names in the record book as winners in the 60th running of the CB Fabricating Redbud 400.

The new format implemented at Anderson Speedway saw 200-lap races for the Vern’s Concrete Late Models and Vore’s Welding & Steel Street Stocks.

Muncie driver JP Crabtree took advantage of a three-way battle for the lead in the Late Model feature to take the lead on lap 159.

With Casten Everidge and Jack Dossey III exchanging paint for the lead, when the two pushed up the track in turn four, Crabtree was able to drive underneath both of them to take the point.

From there Crabtree went on to score the biggest win of his career over Terry Fisher Jr. and Dossey,

The lead at the start Hunter Jack went to the point from the outside of the front row wit Jake Hinton and Jack Dossey III in pursuit.

Hinton took the lead on the seventh circuit with an outside pass of Jack and stayed out front until a restart on lap 38.

Jack led to the halfway back, but was relegated to the tail for the restart for a pit road violation.

Everidge took the point and stayed out front until he was passed by Dossey on lap 145.

Ryan Amonett inherited the lead in the Vores Welding & Steel portion of the 60th running of the CB Fabricating Redbud 400 to score the victory.

The Street Stocks competed in a 200-lap race Saturday at Anderson Speedway that saw misfortune strike the two early leaders.

Amonett started fifth in the field and quickly moved into the third spot behind early leader Josh Poore and Brett Hudson.

Following the halfway break Poore’s ride developed a mechanical issue and he surrendered the lead to Hudson on lap 136 with Amonett moving into the second spot a lap later.

Hudson was relegated to the tail of the field on lap 180 after making contact with the car of Ricky Tharp II, which put Amonett on the point.

He was able to hold off James Kirby III and Ayden Oliver on the start.

Amonett was able to maintain the point through two restarts in the final six laps first holding off Joe Muldoon.

Kirby moved into the second spot with Andrew Teepe also passing Muldoon in the closing laps.

At the finish Amonett won by .677 seconds over Kirby with Teepe, Andrew Cook and Muldoon rounding out the top five.
