Abt & Lamborghini Extend Into 2027

MUNICH, Germany — Abt and Lamborghini have extended their partnership and will compete together in the DTM again in 2027.

Both companies have agreed to a multi-year continuation of their partnership and are further expanding their joint motorsport program. Next year, the Red Bull Team Abt will field two Lamborghini Temerario cars in the DTM.
Abt has been a continuous presence in the DTM since 2000, making it an integral part of the racing series’ history for over a quarter of a century. With a total of ten championship titles in the drivers’ and teams’ standings, Abt is one of the most successful teams in DTM history.

In its first year with the new Temerario GT3 cars for the 2026 season, Red Bull Team Abt has already achieved two podium finishes. The goal for 2027 is clear: Red Bull Team Abt aims to compete for the championship again and bring the next DTM title back to Kempten.

“The long-term continuation of our partnership with Lamborghini is a very significant step for Abt. Lamborghini is an exceptional brand with enormous appeal, and we are proud not only to continue this collaboration in the coming years but also to expand it further,” said Thomas Biermaier, CEO of Abt Sportsline. “Our partnership with Lamborghini has developed steadily over the past few years. The first DTM season together with the Temerario GT3 was an intensive learning year for us in many areas. Competing with a completely new car in such a highly competitive series is a major challenge.

“At the same time, we made a lot of progress over the course of the season, achieved podium finishes, and learned a great deal about the car. We want to build on this experience and continue working diligently over the winter. The goal for 2027 is clear. Together with Red Bull and Lamborghini, we want to fight for the championship again and bring the next title to Kempten.”

The first season together with the Temerario GT3 has provided both sides with many important insights. In 2027, we will significantly expand this collaboration. The DTM will remain a central component, while Abt will also field the Temerario GT3 for the first time in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and enter the Lamborghini Super Trofeo with two cars.”
The driver lineups for the DTM will be announced at a later date.
