Corliss & Dragon Claim Thunder Road Glory

BARRE, Vt. — Jason Corliss and Scott Dragon earned late model victories Thursday night at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.

Action began with the rain-delayed Community College of Vermont Feature from last Thursday with defending champion Corliss driving up to take win No. 31, tying him with Governor Phil Scott as the all-time Late Model win leaders.

Taylor Hoar finished second, with Justin Prescott, Marcel Gravel and Cooper Bouchard completing the top five.

The late models were back again later in the program for their Preston’s Kia feature showdown, Stephen Donahue launched off with the lead as Dragon motored closer on the outside groove.

Dragon would take control just before the lap 10 caution for Mike Rubalcaba’s spin in turn three and drove off with the restart lead.

From then on it was the Dragon Wagon out front with Scott Dragon taking down the win followed across the line by Corliss and Bobby Therrien.

Brendan Moodie claimed the Flying Tiger feature, Walker Finch topped the street stock battle and Mike Slingerland was the Road Warrior victor.
