Pierce Rules Duel In The Desert

LAS VEGAS — Bobby Pierce led all 51 laps to win Saturday night’s Duel in the Desert dirt late model feature that concluded the XR Super Series season at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas.

Pierce bounced back from problems during the first two nights of the event, to claim the $40,000 top prize, beating Jonathan Davenport to the checkered flag by .970 to win the race for the second consecutive season.

Pierce won the event that was slowed by 10 yellow flags.

Billy Moyer, Tim McCreadie and Tanner English rounded out the top five.

With a lap of 16.902 seconds, English was the fast qualifier for the 42-car field.
