Wagner Whips Double X Sprint Car Foes

CALIFORNIA, Mo. — After two consecutive weeks of rainouts, the skies finally cooperated Sunday night as Double X Speedway roared back to life for Week No. 7 of the 2026 Sunday Night Thunder season.

While the car count may have been a bit lighter than anticipated, the action on the quarter-mile clay oval certainly made up for it as drivers put on an entertaining show for the loyal fans who joined us in the grandstands.

Drivers Miles Paulus and Ben Brown would pace the field for the 360 sprint car feature with Brown moving out front early.

The car on the move early was Broc Elliott in his first visit to Double X in 2026, taking the lead from Brown on lap three and he set the pace until lap ten when he could no longer hold off the hard charging No. 77 machine of Jack Wagner.

Wagner would click off the remaining 15 laps to pick up the win with Elliott claiming a strong second place.

Paulus, Ben Brown and Jack Thomas completed the top five.

Tyler Potter claimed his fifth B Modified triumph of the season, while Derek Hensen topped the street stock main event.
