WEEDSPORT, N.Y. — The Northeast is set to continue its trend of being one of DIRTcar’s fastest growing regions with what’s in store for the 2025 season.
After seeing record car counts last season, the Northeast’s 358 Modified, Sportsman and Pro Stock series will compete from April to October across New York, North Carolina and Canada. That includes marquee events like Super DIRT Week 53 at Oswego Speedway, Oct. 6-11, and World Short Track Championship at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
“This will be a very exciting year for the DIRTcar 358s, Sportsman and Pro Stock Series,” DIRTcar Northeast Series Director Dean Reynolds said. “There’s added races at an awesome variety of tracks and on both sides of the border. We can’t wait to get started.”
358 Modified Series
In 2024, 186 drivers attempted to qualify for a feature on the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. And with more drivers expected to battle in Series races in 2025, the number of races on the schedule is also growing.
An 11-race schedule will determine the champion, racing throughout New York and Canada. Four new venues, including one for the first time in 18 years, will be included.
A trip to Lebanon Valley Speedway kicks off the returning tracks on Saturday, April 19, one night after the Super DIRTcar Series races at Albany-Saratoga Speedway. It’s the first time the Series has raced at the “Valley of Speed” since 2007, when Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Famer Kenny Tremont scored the win.
Another half-mile track rejoins the tour on Thursday, April 22, when the Series heads to the shores of Lake Champlain for a stop at Airborne Park Speedway. The Plattsburgh, N.Y., track, which will also sanction 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, and 4 Cylinders weekly in the 2025 season, last hosted a series event in 2019.
Along with Airborne, two more tracks returning to the DIRTcar banner in 2025 are Cornwall Motor Speedway and Mohawk International Raceway, which will host a July doubleheader. Cornwall is up first on Thursday, July 16, followed by Mohawk on Thursday, July 17.
The DIRTcar 358 Modified Series will battle for $10,000+ on three occasions in the 2025 season. The first of those is at Cornwall, where $10,000 (Canadian) is on the line.
Then, the highest-paying race on the schedule awaits the Series on Friday, Oct. 10. Drivers will battle for $20,000-to-win in the Salute to the Troops 150 at Oswego Speedway as part of the Northeast’s marquee event, Super DIRT Week 53.
The last of the three five-figure paydays comes one week later at Brockville Ontario Speedway, where the series champion will be crowned. A $10,000 (Canadian) is up for grabs in the track’s Fall Nationals finale on Saturday, Oct. 18.
DIRTcar Sportsman Series
In 2025, the DIRTcar Sportsman Series has again been split into regional formats. From April to July, drivers will compete across four regions: the North, East, West and Central in their quest for a championship.
Their finish at the end of the regional schedule will earn them points toward the DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series, showcasing the best Sportsman drivers in the Northeast.
The Championship Series combines the best of all four regions into a 10-race battle to determine the DIRTcar Sportsman champion.
The DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series will battle in several marquee events throughout its 11-race schedule, with eight of the 11 events televised on DIRTVision.
They’ll also be paired up with the Super DIRTcar Series on five occasions, including four consecutive races starting with a stop at Ransomville Speedway on Tuesday, Aug. 12, for the Mike Bonesky Memorial.
The marquee event on the DIRTcar Sportsman Series schedule is also with the Beasts of the Northeast, when drivers battle for Super DIRT Week 53 glory in the Chevrolet Performance 75 at Oswego Speedway on Oct. 11.
Along with Super DIRT Week, the Sportsman will be part of two other weekends showcasing all four Northeast Series. They’ll join the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series during Malta Massive Weekend at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday, Sept. 19, and crown a champion during Brockville’s Fall Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The 2025 season finishes on one of the biggest stages in motorsports, as the series returns to The Dirt Track at Charlotte Oct. 30-Nov. 1 for the World Short Track Championship with the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series.
DIRTcar Pro Stock Series
Like the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series, the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series continued its growth, with drivers across New York, Massachusetts, and Canada running every race in 2024.
Now, they’ll have even more chances to earn paydays as the schedule has increased to 12 races, including four new venues.
The first of four new events comes at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 15. It’s the first time the series has raced at the Ontario oval since 2019, when C.D. Beauchamp scored the win on the road to his lone championship.
Then, a return to Quebec is up next when the series visits Autodrome Drummond on Saturday, July 19. The last time the series raced at the “F1 of Dirt” was in 2018, when three-time series champion Jocelyn Roy earned one of his four series wins.
The final two new stops are both in September. First, the series stops at Mohawk on Sept. 13 before returning to Land of Legends Raceway on Sept. 27 for the first time since 2008.
The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series is unique because it crowns its champion on the Northeast’s biggest stage.
For the fifth straight season, the champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the DIRTcar Pro Stock 50 at Super DIRT Week 53.
That allows two drivers to earn glory when they leave Oswego Speedway with a win in the most prestigious race in Pro Stock racing and the series title on the line.
Along with races in the four Northeast Series, drivers will battle at their home tracks in DIRTcar sanctioned events from April-September in the Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championships.
In 2025, 19 tracks will host weekly DIRTcar-sanctioned events, including four new tracks. Airborne, Cornwall and Mohawk be DIRTcar sanctioned for 2025, along with Vermont’s Devils Bowl Speedway.
