IMPERIAL, Pa. — Devin Moran led all 70 laps of the 38th annual Pittsburgher on Saturday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, earning $55,000, including a $5,000 bonus from Sunoco Race Fuels.
The reigning Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion finished seven and a half seconds ahead of runner-up Tim McCreadie.
After two runner-up finishes and a third-place finish in the previous three Pittsburghers, Moran joined his father, Donnie, on the event’s list of winners. The elder Moran won the race three times during his Hall of Fame career.
McCreadie rallied from eighth to finish second, while Nick Hoffman rounded out the podium in his first appearance at Pittsburgh. Max Blair advanced from 11th to fourth, and Ricky Thornton Jr. completed the top five.
Moran’s 31st career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory moved him within 65 points of Midwest Sheet Metal points leader Brandon Sheppard, who finished seventh.
The victory also made Moran the first repeat winner in the Arizona Sport Shirts Crown Jewel Cup in 2026, following his $50,000 triumph in June’s Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway.
“Man, I grew up coming here every now and again. When I started my career, I was never any good, but the last couple of years I’ve really figured it out. I love coming here. I have an amazing fan base here. These Pennsylvania, West Virginia fans—I love them, and they love me. It’s just awesome to win this race in front of this great crowd,” said the Dresden, Ohio, native.
Making his 11th Pittsburgher start, McCreadie passed Hoffman on lap 39 after a spirited battle for second but never seriously challenged Moran for the lead.
“We were trying to get to the front. Hats off to the guys. They got this car real comfortable to drive. It needs some different things than what I know to do to it. It’s a positive for our team to go forward tonight.”
Hoffman followed his first World 100 victory last month at Eldora with a podium finish in his Pittsburgh debut.
“We got our teeth kicked in tonight by Devin. He was way better than all of us. The balance of his race car—he could go anywhere, and we weren’t quite good enough to do that. Timmy snookered me on that restart, got clear of me. We fought back a little bit, but we just couldn’t get back to his inside. Our car was good, just not good enough. This place is so awesome. We are glad we were able to come out here. It races so well.”
