RICHMOND, Va. — Craig Lutz picked up his second win of the season in Thursday night’s Virginia Is For Lovers 150 at Richmond Raceway.
Lutz, who started fourth, led twice for 18 laps and took the lead for good with a lap-143 pass of Austin Beers. From there he drove to his sixth career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory, beating Beers to the checkered flag by .686 seconds on the three-quarter-mile track.
Beers led the race three times for 52 laps.
Patrick Emerling finished third, with Trevor Catalano fourth.
Corey LaJoie romped from 22nd on the grid to finish fifth.
