RIVERHEAD, N.Y. — Justin Bonsignore made NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour history Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway.
Bonsignore won the Miller Lite 200 Salute To Steve Park that was delayed by a day because of rain on Saturday.
Bonsignore held off Matt Hirschman on a green-white checkered finish to earn his 12th Modified Tour triumph at the quarter-mile oval.
The victory broke a tie for the most Tour wins at the track that Bonsignore had shared with Mike Ewanitsko.
It was also the 46th career victory for the four-time Modified Tour champion.
Hirschman finished second, with Patrick Emerling, Ron Silk and Craig Lutz completing the top five.
