NASCAR Late Model rookie Sally Mott and IndyCar racer Zach Veach are Will’s guests on this week’s The Pits Are Open
Sally Mott is a rising racing driver known for her determination, precision, and competitive spirit. With a background rooted in grassroots motorsports, Sally has steadily advanced through the ranks by combining raw speed with a disciplined, technical approach to racing. She is recognized for her strong race craft, adaptability across different cars and conditions, and her commitment to continual improvement.
Off the track, Sally is an advocate for increased opportunities for women in motorsports, inspiring the next generation through her work ethic, professionalism, and passion for the sport. Sally made her NASCAR Late Model debut April 18th at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Zach Veach is an American open-wheel driver from Stockdale, Ohio, who climbed the entire Road to Indy ladder before reaching the NTT IndyCar Series. After early success in USF2000 and Indy Lights, where he earned multiple victories and finished fourth in the 2016 championship, Veach made his IndyCar debut in 2017 and secured a full-time ride with Andretti Autosport from 2018 through 2020. Driving the No. 26 Honda, he made four starts in the Indianapolis 500 and recorded a career-best IndyCar finish of fourth at the 2019 Grand Prix of Alabama.
Beyond racing, Veach became a national advocate against distracted driving through his work with FocusDriven and authored a book aimed at teen drivers. Although he has not competed full-time in IndyCar since 2020, Veach remains respected for his perseverance, community involvement, and his journey from grassroots racing to the highest levels of American open-wheel competition.
