Sprint Rankings: Dietz & Courtney Kick Up Some Dust

Weather continues to hamper the 410 winged sprint car racing season as half of the 16 races scheduled this past week were washed out.

Five regions within the National Sprint Car Rankings have now begun their season.

The National Sprint Car Rankings will not open until drivers begin reaching the 20-start requirement in a few weeks. Brent Marks and Brock Zearfoss lead the country with 17 races each.

Chase Dietz earned his fourth victory of the season on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway and he leads the Eastern region standings.

Tyler Courtney, who won Sunday’s World of Outlaws feature at Tri-State Speedway, is the new leader in the Great Lakes region.

Other regional leaders are Michael “Buddy” Kofoid (Mid-America) Aaron Reutzel (Western) and Jacob Bergenwald (PA-OH).

Thirty-three drivers have combined to win the 49 features run this season. Kofoid and Dietz lead the nation with four victories each.

Commissioned by Tom Deery and Brian Carter in 2009, the Sprint Car Rankings are administered by longtime racing official Gary Spaid.
