SARVER, Pa. — The first-time winners are coming left and right with Kubota High Limit Racing lately.
After Ryan Timms got his at the Tuscarora 50 and Tanner Thorson claimed his on Friday at Lernerville, Daison Pursley made it back-to-back-to-back first-timers with his Commonwealth Clash title on Saturday.
Starting from the pole, Pursley led the opening circuit before the only caution of the race set up a restart that saw the Buch Motorsports No. 13 driver slip as far back as fourth. That was only the beginning of things as a four-car battle for the win broke out between himself, Rico Abreu, Ryan Smith, and Brad Sweet.
Abreu ripped to the lead with one epic move to go from fourth-to-first on Lap 2, and he proceeded to lead beyond halfway until lap traffic tightened things up. Sweet snuck by on Lap 20 and led the next five laps before Pursley came back to life and drove underneath Sweet to re-claim control on Lap 25.
From there, the 20-year-old native of Locust Grove, Oklahoma fought off the nerves, overcame lapped traffic, and drove away to a 2.036-second margin of victory – making his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing win a big one with a $30,000 payday.
The Buch Motorsports No. 13 team – which now owns three total High Limit victories – made it 17 different winners to visit Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this season. It was an extra special $1,000 donation from the Angel Donor as Pursley got to send his money to Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, which was a major player in Daison’s recovery from a near life-altering injury when racing midgets.

Pursley became the first Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year to win a race and earn a Casm Safety Win Sticker.
For the second-straight night, Brad Sweet led laps but finished with runner-up honors. The Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 is still winless over the last two months and 22 races, but their $15,000 second-place finish brings them to within 25-points of re-claiming the championship lead with 10 races left.
Rounding out the podium was a Central Pennsylvanian combination with Kunkletown’s Ryan Smith driving the Kreitz Racing No. 69K to a $10,000 reward in third-place. It’s his fifth-straight top-10 with the series, the longest active streak of anyone.
