Barnes Is First-Time 410 Sprint Car Winner

ELDON, Mo. — Jett Barnes would quickly adapt to 410 sprint car racing, leading all 25 feature laps in only his second career start to earn his first POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League victory during Night One of Labor Day at the Lake at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Establishing the feature field would find high-point qualifier Barnes and Ryan Newton lining up on the front row, with Barnes taking the initial on-track advantage as Newton, Xavier Doney, Ayrton Gennetten, and Jack Wagner formed the early running top five.

Checking out on the field from the preferred position, Barnes would keep a fast-paced Newton at bay throughout the quickly completed feature as lap traffic came into play and forced competitors to battle for every inch of racing room.

Finding speed throughout the night, Jett Barnes would not be denied as he paced all 25 laps of the feature event to secure his first career league victory.

“This place ended up awesome tonight. I was worried earlier, but with the rework, we ended up with a great, fast track,” said Barnes. “I gotta get to the gym, though. These 410s take endurance, but it feels so good to get this done. I can’t thank Jason and the team enough for giving me these opportunities.”

Remaining close throughout the feature, Ryan Newton would race to the runner-up position as Xavier Doney completed the podium.

Ryder McCutcheon finished fourth, with Joe B. Miller rounding out the top five.
