INDIANAPOLIS — Helio Meza (No. 28 Alessandros Racing / SLR-M1 Chevrolet Camaro) has quickly returned to his dominant ways in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, winning his fifth pole of the campaign at Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Road Course.
The Spring, Texas-native was able to get around the iconic 2.439-mile road course in 1:27.568, picking up his sixth career pole. Meza triumphed against Team SLR teammate Alon Day, winner of the division’s most-recent event at Lime Rock Park, posting a lap more than a tenth of a second quicker than the four-time NASCAR Euro Series champion.
Ethan Tovo (No. 10 Dick’s Sporting Goods Toyota Camry) was the third fastest in qualifying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, collecting a career-best starting spot in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series for Nitro Motorsports.
Gavin Gleitsman was fourth, continuing an uptick in performance from the driver of the No. 51 Exron Capital / ImageFX Chevrolet Camaro that first showed itself with a fourth place start at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day Weekend.
Adrian Wlostowski, the only driver running double-duty between the CUBE 3 TA2 Series and the Trans Am Series by Pirelli (running the GT Class), rounded out the top five. Thomas Merrill, the 2018 TA2 West winner at Indianapolis, will roll from sixth, with Jace Denmark, Jackson Tovo, Lanie Buice, and Tanner Reif rounding out the top-10.
Both Denmark (seventh) and Reif (tenth) picked up career-best starts in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series.
All 32 drivers entered between the CUBE 3 TA2 Series and the PRO/AM Division turned a lap in time trials from Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Road Course.
