Twice Is Nice For Jacob Nadeau

LONG SAULT, Ontario — After 50 non-stop laps around Cornwall Motor Speedway, Jacob Nadeau stood on top of the 30-car DIRTcar Sportsman North Region field once again on Sunday.

Nadeau, from Yamaska, Quebec, finished off the North Region Canadian doubleheader by parking in victory lane for the second night in a row. Tristan Ladouceur and Joshua Jock filled out the podium with strong points finishes.

Nadeau drew the outside pole position alongside Skylar Ladouceur.

Ladouceur led the first 25 laps and maintained second until the race’s closing stages when a mistake dropped him off the podium.

Nadeau made the move for the lead at the halfway point and kept a perfect line for the remainder of the 50-lap feature. However, behind the leader, second-place finisher Tristan Ladouceur made a late-race move for second.

“I took fourth on lap 20, and I was hoping for a mistake,” said Tristan Ladouceur. “A mistake came, but the No. 95 ran a perfect race. He never got out of line. I am pretty happy with a second. We’ll take it.”

The strong finish for Ladouceur catapulted him to the North Region points lead by 10 points over Shane Pecore. Sixteenth-place finisher, Brennan Moore, dropped to third in the standings.

Joshua Jock, the only New York driver on the podium, battled inside the top three for the entire race and came away with the podium after a disappointing finish at Autodrome Drummond.

“We unloaded at Drummond and didn’t know what to expect, “said Jock. “But we finished in third place tonight, and that’s what matters.”
