FONDA, N.Y. — Stewart Friesen continued his dominance at Fonda Speedway on Wednesday night, winning the Firecracker 50 for the Short Track Super Series.
Friesen started 12th and worked his way forward to claim the 50-lap event ahead of Matt Sheppard, who started sixth.
Friesen earned $7,776 for the victory. It was his fourth win of the 2025 season at Fonda, the 98th of his career at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds track, and the 53rd win of his career on the STSS series.
“We had another great race car tonight, Tommy and the guys and everybody at Halmar International made the right calls and got us up front,” Friesen said . “Just a great race team, we are rolling real good, and it feels good to get a big win here on Fourth of July week.”
Alex Yankowski raced from ninth to finish third, while Michael Trautschold and Chris Raabe completed the top five.
Tyler Peet charged from 11th to win the sportsman feature.
Jay Ingersoll won the four-cylinder event and Jason Samrov topped the street stock race.
